The use of renewable energy to reduce fossil energy consumption is currently a worldwide issue. Indonesia is an archipelago traversed by the equator and surrounded by two oceans: the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean. This is why the tides, wind, waves and ocean currents in Indonesian waters are very strong. This study aims to determine the potential of tidal energy in the waters of Lasongko Bay, Central Buton Regency that can be used as renewable energy in supporting national energy security and reducing dependence on the use of energy from fossil fuels that can cause greenhouse gas emissions. The quantitative method used is descriptive analysis to describe the results of research using numbers, statistical analysis, and mathematical equations in accordance with scientific standards. The direct sampling method allows for the determination of research sites; samples taken at one site will serve as a representation of other sites in the study area. Data were collected by direct observation, by measuring and recording the water level at every 1-hour interval for 15 days. The average volume of water entering the pond was 871.33 m3, with an average flow rate of 0.02 m3/s. From the results of the analysis carried out, the average power generated is 0.06 Watt per cubic metre of sea water rise and the average energy generated in 1 (one) year is 54.22 kWh.
